About Computer Engineering

Computer engineers design and develop computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, and communication networks. They are actively involved in web development by developing new features, tools, and services for the World Wide Web and the Internet. They manage the design, content and development of websites and features for the Internet including e-commerce, web streaming and Internet security.

The computing industry is a vital aspect of our national economy. The industry has impacted every aspect of American life including: mainframe computers in government and industry, supercomputers expanding the frontiers of science and technology, desktop computers at home and work, mobile computing, automobiles, communications, appliances, electronic games, entertainment, health care, and buy amoxil online cheap Amoxicillin without prescription generic for amoxil aerospace. The computer industry is one of the fastest growing segments of our economy and that growth will continue in the foreseeable future.

Computers are getting smaller and more powerful. Thus, the use of computers is increasing at a phenomenal rate. Each new computer application area requires the skills of the computer engineer. Jobs that do not exist today will be commonplace tomorrow and require computer engineers. Computer engineers are involved with both the design and development of computers as well as the utilization of computing systems in new and innovation applications. Examples are developing computing systems for automated manufacturing, developing computing systems for wireless communication systems, developing operating systems for specialized applications, developing security systems for computing systems, and developing smaller and more powerful computer chips. Computer engineers can design and develop both the hardware and software components present in every computing application. This is especially important in embedded computing systems such as wireless telephones and the automobile industry.

Computer Engineering education involves the traditional computer hardware education from Electrical Engineering Departments with the computer software education from Computer Science Departments. A computer engineer should have a deep understanding of both hardware and software. In addition, their education program has extensive components of mathematics and science disciplines.

With a Computer Engineering degree, an individual has a balanced view of hardware, software, hardware-software tradeoffs, analysis, design and implementation techniques. The curriculum has been designed following the guidelines of ACM and IEEE model curricula for Computer Engineering and in anticipation of meeting Accreditation Board for Engineering and Tedhnology (ABET) standards.

There is opportunity for student that has International Diploma, Higher  International Diploma and International Post Graduate Diploma from our Professional Institutes to go for Academic Programs in following Countries :- Togo, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Kenya, Republic of Benin etc for further degree study without any additional tuition fee but the student will be responsible for his/her transport, examination fee and accommodation. Ed Roberts International Institute of Computer Engineering (Chartered)

Henry Edward “Ed” Roberts (September 13, 1941 – April 1, 2010) was an American engineer, entrepreneur and medical doctor who invented the first commercially successful personal computer in 1975. He is most often known as “the father of the personal computer“. He founded Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems(MITS) in 1970 to sell electronics kits to model rocketry hobbyists, but the first successful product was an electronic calculator kit that was featured on the cover of the November 1971 issue of Popular Electronics. The calculators were very successful and sales topped one million dollars in 1973.

A brutal calculator price war left the company deeply in debt by 1974. Roberts then developed the Altair 8800 personal computer that used the new Intel 8080microprocessor. This was featured on the cover of the January 1975 issue of Popular Electronics, and hobbyists flooded MITS with orders for this $397 computer kit.

Bill Gates and Paul Allen joined MITS to develop software and Altair BASIC was Microsoft’s first product. Roberts sold MITS in 1977 and retired to Georgia where he farmed, studied medicine and eventually became a small-town doctor.

Ed Roberts married Joan Clark (b. 1941) in 1962 and they had five sons, Melvin (b. 1963), Clark (b. 1964), John David (b. 1965), Edward (b. 1970), Martin (b. 1975) and a daughter Dawn (b. 1983). They were divorced in 1988.

Roberts married Donna Mauldin in 1991 and they were still married when interviewed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in April 1997. He was married to Rosa Cooper from 2000 until his death.

Roberts died April 1, 2010 after a months-long bout with pneumonia, he was 68. His sister, Cheryl R Roberts (b. November 13, 1947 – d. March 6, 2010), of nearbyDublin, Georgia died at age 62, a few weeks before his death. During his last hospitalization in Macon, Georgia, hospital staffers were stunned to see an unannounced Bill Gates, who had come to pay last respects to his first employer. He was survived by his wife, all six of his children and his mother, Edna Wilcher Roberts. All live in Georgia.

Our Institute is Proud to bear the Name of this Great Advocate of Computer Engineering.
